The frustration never ends

I got my blood tested, and now my TSH level is too low. The doctor prescribed a new dose, along with Provera so I can get a period (because it's been 7 weeks, and that's too long). So, we wait yet another six weeks for my body to get used to the new dosage.

Damn. Damn, damn, damn. At this rate, it will be late summer before I can even think of starting to try again (because there's no guarantee my levels will be right even after this dosage). I should have known, after our first time around, that I can never actually plan what's going to happen in my reproductive life.

Well, the good news is that I can now take my Category C allergy meds for the next couple of months without the fear of harming our baby-making efforts.

Like many of you, I also have this little timer in my head that's tick, tick, ticking away. How long before we can start trying again? At what point do we just call it a day? This thyroid issue could end up delaying us for six months or more--and that's not even including failed cycles once we start doing medicated cycles.

This just sucks. Apparently, God is telling me that I'm supposed to enjoy my summer without thinking of trying to conceive. Arg. Happy Mother's Day to me.

Being on a forced break. I'm trying to see mine as an "opportunity" to get healthy and lose weight but it is still hard.

Hopefully they will figure your dose out soon and you can start cycling!!

Thinking of you.

Sorry I'm just catching up. I've been trying to check in periodically, but it seems it had been longer than I realized because there are a bunch of new posts.

One of the many frustrations for me with secondary infertility has been that every time there's a BFN or a big delay (for example, the wait after my loss) my mind immediately thinks about how much time is being added to any potential child age gap. It's hard to fully enjoy that time, even when you really want to.

I understand well the combination of guilt and frustration that TTC #2 brings with it, and I hope you don't have to slog through much more of it.

Forced breaks, I think, are their own whole category of pain and frustration. For me, it's not quite as painful as infertility, but painful nonetheless (and I can see how for others it could be worse, not being able to "do anything" about the situation). But I like how you're looking on the positive side with the allergy medicine, and I hope when this break is done you don't have to wait much longer!

I hope your thyroid levels straighten out. A TSH of around 1.0 is good for pregnancy, or so I've heard. I have been on Thyroid hormone for five years and my doctors watched it well for me during this prior (and successful) pregnancy.
